Comment: The F-16 is probably the most cost-effective choice. The Eurofighter seems far beyond what Romania needs to meet its defense commitments. Comment:

Comment: I'm not a big fan of either type. Nevertheless, the A320 family generally seems a bit roomier. Comment: This result was a rather split decision. In the long run, having a strong competitor will likely result in reduced cost and a better product for the Air Force.

Comment: This result was somewhat unexpected. The way deregulation is so often denigrated in the press led us to believe the voting would be rather negative. Comment: The A400M is starting to look like throwing good money after bad. The project has garnered so much bad publicity at this point that it looks increasingly unlikely any export sales will result.
