Comment: in progress Comment: Although bin Laden's death may energize the extremist elements of the Muslim world, these groups need little motivation to fuel their hatred of America and the West in the first place. It appears most governments in the Middle East are pleased bin Laden is gone judging by their relative silence.

Comment: Since the ruling party gained seats in Canada's election, the attempt to topple Prime Minister Harper appears to have backfired. Based on the nation's desire for a stealth aircraft optimized for ground attack missions, the F-35 is the only design available to meet the requirement. The attacks on the decision made by Harper's opponents appear weak and more motivated by political opportunism than legitimate complaints. Comment: This result is a bit surprising given the closeness of last month's poll on establishing a no-fly zone. Perhaps the conclusion is our voters are undecided on whether Libya is worth fighting over, but they'd rather not have the US military involved regardless.

Comment: After a decade of contract awards, challenges, controversy, and even prison sentences, it appears this competition is finally over. We can only hope the winning design lives up to expectations. Comment: There appears to be little consensus on this topic among our participants, which seems to be consistent with national polls on the matter. Roughly half support action to prevent Gaddafi from crushing the rebellion while half believe it best to stay out of the conflict and let the Libyans sort it out.
